Take this quiz on naming US presidents. You have 10 minutes once you select the link (the page contains a timer). No prepping! Select the link and start. You must type in the president's last name in the text field next to "Enter a President's last name:"and if you enter correctly, say "Washington", it automatically enters the name in the slot of his presidency. Once you are done, post your results in the comment section of this post. I already gave you one answer, see if you can beat my score. I got 34 out of 43 on the first try. The pre-Civil War and Reconstruction presidents were hard, mostly because they were terrible presidents and not worth remembering.

I got 33. What amazed me was some of the ones I forgot! I always have trouble with names and certainly the added pressure did not help! Your mom will probably tear it up!!! How many did Jacob get?
ReplyDeleteI was the same way. I KNEW I would recognize all the presidents when they were revealed and could probably place them close to their term if I saw their names, but it was hard to think of some of them of the top of your head. Especially president's like Taylor and Pierce who are just never mentioned in conversation, even political coversation.
ReplyDeleteI got 36 out of 43 and am ashamed that I missed any of them. I should have remembered them all.
ReplyDeleteI got 38 correct. Marcia, I know your frustration. I got almost all of mine in the first five minutes. I spent the other five minutes frustrated and disappointed that I couldn't remember the rest.
ReplyDeleteAnd I also agree with Kyle's statement. All of the ones I missed were just before the Civil War or just after. It was boring time in history--the exception being Garfield's assassination, which kind of livened things up. ;)
