Setting: Jacob is sitting in Daddy's lap, and they are watching Little Einsteins on Disney early one morning. One of the characters, June, catches a big stack of pancakes.
Jacob: I want pancakes. Fix me pancakes.
Daddy: Do you want pancakes Jacob?
Jacob: Yea, I want some pancakes.
Daddy: Are you sure you want to eat pancakes?
Jacob: Yea, I am sure. I want to eat pancakes.
Daddy and Jacob go into the kitchen. Jacob sees a box containing a giant cookie cake on the counter which Daddy and Mommy had gotten the night before. Jacob stops dead in his tracks and stares at the box.
Jacob: I don't want pancakes. I want the cookie.
Setting: Kyle is home for college Thanksgiving break and is sitting in living room after meal at Granny's.
ReplyDeleteDaddy: Kyle, did you have any of Granny's pumpkin pie?
Kyle: No, I don't like pumpkin pie.
Daddy: You would like Granny's. You really ought to try it.
"Kyle gets up and leaves to get some, mostly to satisfy his Daddy. He returns and eats the pie. Shortly Daddy notices Kyle getting up and leaving."
Daddy: Where are you going Kyle?
Kyle: To get another piece of pie!
Scene shift: Kyle is leaving to return to college after holiday. In his possession is a whole pumpkin pie made by his Granny. Never again, as long as Granny was able, would Kyle leave a home visit sans a Granny made pumpkin pie!
Moral: Little boys only become bigger boys. (Yes, that even includes Daddy Lukes)
